WordCamp San Diego 2015

29 March

What You Need To Know About Local SEO

I’m very proud to have been selected as one of the speakers at WordCamp San Diego this weekend. I was selected to speak on Local SEO and what you need to know. With just 40 minutes, we can only touch on the basics, but I felt that I had enough resources for people to deep dive into the tools and resources for everyone to learn more.

Here are the slides I used for the presentation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Get Noticed in 2015 – Online SEO Workshop

Get Noticed In 4 Weeks – Thursdays in January // Now on Google Hangouts!

SEO-Webinar

Get your website whipped into shape to start pulling in quality traffic and clients.

This will be a weekly seminar with 1 hour of presentation, and 1/2 hour of Q&A based on the day’s topics.

The topics we’ll be covering, and the time William will spend with you would normally cost hundreds more.

WP Water Cooler

26 August

I had a blast today on WP Water Cooler. Myself and eight other prominent WordPress talking heads were on the Water Cooler this morning discussing ways to speed up your website. We discussed:

  • Hosting
  • Themes and how the coding can increase/decrease load times
  • Caching
  • CDNs
  • Heavy plugins
  • And JPEGMini

The pace was pretty energetic, it’s difficult to get a word in with a bunch of smart-asses like these guys. But I felt I brought something good to the table.

PhotoBiz Xposed

26 March

I was just interviewed on a very cool Australian podcast called PhotoBiz Xposed. The host Andrew Hellmich was so very gracious and had incredibly insightful questions for his viewers. Most were SEO related, but we discussed WPPI, photography in general and how I still shoot film.

Andrew’s a great guy, and he’s running an excellent podcast down there.

WordCamp 2013

23 March

I got to speak this weekend at WordCamp San Diego. WordCamp is a big geekfest for WordPress developers. They’re put on in different cities around the world, and all kinds of topics are covered: design, technical development, business related, and just about any other aspect of using or running WordPress.

I’ve been wanting to discuss the benefits of establishing a business that is focussed on a certain niche since our work here at Flaunt Your Site is predominantly Photographer focused. When I discovered they had included a “Lightning Round” with 5 minute micro-topics, I jumped at the chance to get up there and blurt out what I could.

I talked to a few people afterwards and it seems it was pretty well received. I don’t know if the lightning round will make it to a video format like the other speakers, but here are my slides below.

I’m Speaking at WordCamp San Diego

13 June

I’m excited as all get out to announce that I have been invited to speak at WordCamp San Diego! It’s completely sold out too! My topic will cover WordPress and SEO for photographers.

I first attended a WordCamp in L.A. back in 2009 and was blown away by the feeling of community and comradery present. Everyone was so open to learning and sharing with each other.
For those of you that have tickets, you’ll be able to see me speak at 9:30AM in the “Gaslamp” room.
If you can’t make it, there is a chance that they may be webcasting it. I’ll keep everyone informed if they do.

I’m thrilled and looking forward to seeing you all out there! I’ll have some great information to provide to everyone and maybe even a few freebies to give out.

Las Vegas Pictage User Group

28 January

Just got back from teaching a workshop on SEO at the Las Vegas Pictage User Group. It was a blast and everyone there was so much fun. We held everything right in Chelsea Nicole’s living room, I just hooked up my laptop to their big screen TV, and we did everything there. Ordered pizzas for lunch… It was a cool, laid back atmosphere to teach and learn some great SEO tips and strategies.

Plus driving through the desert from San Diego to Vegas and back is always a beautiful experience.

San Diego PPA

08 January

I was very honored to have run an SEO for photographers workshop at San Diego’s PPA. We did a full 8 hour session covering topics such as installing WordPress, and how to properly configure websites to take advantage of on-site SEO.
